SCHEDULING
"Meet & Greet"
For all new clients, please contact me as soon as possible to arrange for us to get together at your home to discuss in detail your needs for pet-sitting and to allow your pets to become acquainted with me. This visit should last approximately 30 minutes. Of course, there is no charge for this initial interview. Remember to have an extra key!
Holidays & the Summer Season are always quite busy, so the sooner this is arranged the better.
"Reservations"
I do my best to accomodate "last-minute" requests, but sometimes this is not possible. In the event of my being fully booked or have already arranged time off I will refer you to Pamela or another qualified Pet Sitter in your area.
It is not uncommon for me to be SOLD OUT for
holidays many weeks in advance.

HURRICANE SEASON
June 1st-Novemeber 30th
http://www.ready.gov/america/beinformed/hurricanes.html
For those of you who have known me since 2004, I have had to abide by some strict rules regarding pet care during Hurricane Season. I lost my home in Hurricane Ivan as I live on the Santa Rosa Sound here in Navarre. My area is a mandatory evacuation zone for Cat. 1 storms.
I will have to ready my own home and leave with my 3 dogs and bird for any storm, although I do stay in the area to continue care for any pets that are booked with me if it is POSSIBLE to do so.
(Cat. 3-5 means get FAR away!)
I have to plan for the worst case scenerio!
As you can well imagine, you never know what a storm may bring!
I do require one of two things while you are out of town during Hurricane Season.
Keep an eye on the Weather Channel for any approaching storms and plan accordingly!
If it looks like we are going to be impacted, please plan to return home 48 hours prior to landfall to ready your home for the storm and to evacuate with your pets if needed. Roads will be busy with traffic.
Remember! Flights may be cancelled after that window of time! If you are unable for any reason to return home you MUST have a reliable & responsible friend or relative available to ready your home and be a backup person to care for and/or evacuate your animals.
Due to the unpredictability of hurricanes it is mandatory to have this plan in place in the event of damage so severe that I may not be able to continue care for your pets in the aftermath.
Experience during Ivan for some clients of mine on the beach and in flood zones in our area has forced me to be quite strict with this policy.
My #1 priority is the safety of your furry loved ones!
If you are new to this area please become familiar with how to prepare for these dangerous storms!
